Andrew Cronshaw writes regularly for the roots and world music magazine fRoots, and irregularly for other magazines including The Strad, Gramophone, Sing Out!, Unknown Public, Songlines, Friiti, Helsinki Happens and Finnish Music Quarterly. He wrote the chapters on the musics of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Sámiland, Iceland, Denmark & the Faroe Islands, the Baltic States and Portugal for the current second edition, and forthcoming third edition, of The Rough Guide to World Music, the chapters on music for the new editions of The Rough Guide to Portugal and The Rough Guide To The Baltic States, the chapter on Galician and Asturian music for Celtic Music (pub. Backbeat), and the section on European music for the current second edition of the directory Direct Roots.

From April 2nd 2009 the texts of all the record reviews written over the last 20+ years by Andrew Cronshaw for fRoots magazine (except for those from the most recent issues of the magazine - the last three months or so) - some 1500 albums, mainly from the Nordic countries, the Baltics, Eastern Europe and Iberia, but also from other parts of Europe and the world - are now online as part of this website.
