Wimme Saari’s techno-joik seems to have peaked with the previous album, Gierran. Hard to know where to go next in converting Sápmi’s very personal minimal musical form for wider consumption; this has slipped to rather dull retro-Kraftwerk electro with more “lo-la lay-la” wordless vocalising but little imagery or evocativeness.
