Meeting In the Mountain
Etnisk Musikklubb EM53 (2008)
The ringing overtones and natural scales of Svein Westad’s jew’s-harp and
seljefløyte (no-hole whistle) meet the bansuri, tablas and sarangi of three
finely sensitive Nepali musicians. Some tracks they play apart, but in the
Kathmandu recordings when their two mountain musics come together, airily
reaching or tabla-driven, it’s a natural blend.
