Vozes Do Sul
Capella CDCAP 2001 (2000)

A labour of love by well-known Portuguese musician Janita Salomé: a celebration of the singing of his homeland, Alentejo, featuring four leading male and female traditional vocal groups, Salomé and some of his family, and with a coda of three singers improvising a long baldão. The singing is vibrant and real-thing, but in places pitch is soured and rhythm corralled by superfluous overdubbed instrumental parts.
