FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE VILA
Music of Serbia
ARC EUCD 2121 (2008)

Novi Sad based Serbian dance ensemble’s 9-piece band, plus singing dancers, recorded in Canada. Choreography, smiles and whirling costumes can distract from the fact that some such bands contain village players and can play rather well. As this one does, in arranged trad material from around Serbia on frula, kaval, accordion, clarinet, sax, violin, guitar, percussion and bass guitar.
