Black Sea Fire
Jaro JARO 4279-2 (2009)

Guitarist/panduri-player, bass guitarist and percussionist from Georgia, Bulgarian kaval player Theodosii Spassov, Ukrainian accordionist and Turkish baglama player, plus mostly Georgian guests, in music inspired by Black Sea area traditions. Impressively smart playing, with an occasional fine vocal slow section, but much of it loses flavour in busy universal ethno-jazz. www.jaro.de
