Lauska CD031 (2008)

Lauska Cultural Management Centre’s latest biennial ‘Butter’ compilation of recent recordings by 22 bands drawing on Latvia’s trad roots, from bagpipes and group vocals to folk-metal. A useful window on some of the evolving scene; it lacks for example Upe recordings and Ilgi, but isn’t just Lauska releases, and many are unreleased tracks.
