Notable figures in Finland’s new folk, Veera Voima (vocals, kantele, whistles), Emilia Lajunen (fiddle, nyckelharpa, erhu, vocals) and Roope Aarnio (guitars, mandolin), plus double bass and on some tracks an empowering heft of percussion, in skilfully innovative, rhythmically ingenious and varied new compositions using largely Finnish runolaulu lyrics. Attractive video track too.
