Normally a line-up of fiddles, accordion, guitar and bass playing Norwegian dance music indicates stodgy gammaldans. But not here, in this beautifully arranged set of traditional tunes from Hedemarken, just north of Oslo. Adding clarinet, cello, harmonium, piano, dobro and the occasional song, the band is reminiscent of an exquisite summer tea-dance orchestra but with better tunes and more skill and verve.
