Thou art Blessed, Lord - Early Bulgarian Church Chants
Kuker SN 990615 KA (2007)
Orthodox church music has it when it comes to rich, non-effete male voices and
moving, calming, plainsong-like or more melodic, sometimes folk-derived melody.
Here just two voices float impeccably, in unison or dividing with the second
taking drone or harmony, with subtle, natural grace-notes on the turns, the
phrases overlapping in church-like, but actually Sofia studio, reverb.
