SKRUK & MAHSA VAHDAT
I Vinens Speil
Kirkelig Kulturverksted FXCD 360 (2010)
13th and 14th century Persian poems by Rumi and Hafez, translated into Norwegian
and set to arrangements of traditional Persian and new melodies, sung by Iranian
female singer Mahsa Vahdat and Norwegian mixed-voice choir Skruk, with Tord
Gustavsen’s fluid piano, bass and percussion. Calmly beautiful melding of
Norwegian church-traditional and Persian.
