Fiddler Simonsson’s solo, unaccompanied album is a ramble with a witty, self-effacing companion through the richness and humour of the Swedish fiddle tradition, the tunes making a soundtrack to his booklet notes with their vivid anecdotes of the people behind them, like tales told over coffee at sun-streaked cottage kitchen tables.
