Memories Of The Stone
Folken Music 03 (2010)
Appealing, sensitive set of melodious trad Polish, Yiddish, Balkan and originals
from Polish trio of Jarek Adamów on clarinet, sopilka and kaval, accordionist
Bartlomiej Stanczyk and double bassist Robert Brzozowski, with occasional vocals
from all three, well recorded in the natural, warm acoustic of Wlodawa’s old
stone synagogue.
JAREK ADAMÓW
Etnomalia Projekt
Folken Music 04 (2010)
Adamów again, this time in a brasher context, his clarinet and kaval with
electric guitar, bass guitar and drumkit in instrumental workouts based on
traditional Polish dance tunes. His laudable aim is to find a modern expression
of the mix of cultures that makes up Poland’s past and present, but perhaps this
line-up gets stuck in the late 20th century.
