SCHÄL SICK BRASS BAND

ACT 9277-2 (2000)

World-Balkan-Gypsy-rock-Arabic-New-Orleans-brass-Brazilian-rap-jazz instrumental band from Cologne, with Bulgarian “dolled-up-diva” [sic] Iwanka Iwanova and guest African percussionists and singers from Egypt and Teheran. Self-consciously world-shopping, but no posey techno world-sampling, it digs in with wild, meaty real playing, lots of variety, big fun with roots.
