Norsk Folkemusikksamling NFS-1 (2002)

Recordings made between 1958 and 1991 of solo gångar, springar and a halling played with great vigour and skill by Austenå on hardingfele, in his native Tovdal’s powerful open-string dronal, dance-playing style. The last active fiddler in the valley, his playing from another era has been rediscovered by the new wave of young players.
