Salamander SALAM001 (2013)

Well-found songs and tunes from Europe’s last two millennia, including English, Catalan, Sephardic, Tatar, Provençal, ancient Greek etc., by Swedish fiddle, guitar, melodeon/bouzouki trio. Playing, with Jonas Liljeström’s expressive fiddling and more folk freedom than classical-rooted ensembles, is let down by pitch-iffy vocals.
