Roumanie - Romania
Silex YA 225714 (1997)
Real living Romanian music, recorded by French musician Érik Marchand in homes
and at village celebrations. Lightning saxophone, the now rare cobza, polyphonic
vocals, violins and Stroh violin, double-chanter bagpipe, glottal stop
vocalising, accordion, dancing, the great Roma singer Nicolaé Guta, restaurant
music, and a man imitating the neighbouring village’s band using voice and a
cupboard.
