Ulrika Bodén and Sofia Sandén’s light, attractive duet vocals set against the strong, churning strings of Niklas Roswall’s nyckelharpas and Jens Engelbrecht’s frets plus double bass and percussion in well-found, infectiously melodic traditional songs and ballads make Ranarim, their impetus and freshness undiminished in this third album, a brand leader in Sweden’s contemporary roots music.
