Mipu MIPUCD 501 (1996)
Sampler from the lively folk music scene centred on Rääkkylä, eastern Finland,
the home of Värttinä, which has the final track. Mostly young groups, teenage
and early 20s, the prevailing sound being Värttinä-like group vocals and
energetic accordion. Some names to watch: singer/accordionist Pauliina Luukkanen
(here with group Mimmit), singer Johanna Koukkunen, accordionist Satu Niiranen.
