World Music Network RGNET 1034 CD (1999)

Excellently non-obvious compilation, containing not just the likes of Musafir, Taraf de Haïdouks, Fanfare Ciocarlia, flamenco, jazz and Hungarians but Finnish, Italian and English gypsies (Jasper and Levi Smith) and an utterly magnificent, wind-blown vocal, lyra-soaring track from Greece’s Eleni Vitali.
