World Music Network RGNET 1051 CD

“The Music Of” implies comprehensiveness, but this, compiled by Phillip Page, concentrates mostly on new-roots. While not based on RG content, it includes on-CD extracts from relevant chapters. Much good stuff, but little showing of the underlying traditions, and coverage Finland-heavy, Sweden-middling and Norway-patchy, one track each from Denmark, Sámiland and Greenland, and Iceland’s churchy national anthem.
