GAVIN PENNYCOOK
Celtic Nyckelharpa
Own label GCPCD002 (2010)
As Scottish fiddler Pennycook says, his nyckelharpa style is very different from
Swedish. He tunes it like a viola, and his bowing and grace-noting are very
fiddle-like. Fine player, anyway, joined in smart versions of often well-known
but good Scots and Irish tunes by guitar or cittern, bodhrán and his own
fiddles, whistle or Galician pipes.
