Niko, godson of famous joiker the late Nils Aslak Valkeapää, isn’t a joiker, but his songs – his own lyrics in North Sámi to tunes by Georg Buljo – are joik-shaped, more so than on his first album, and given the sort of drifting, reflective atmosphere Norway does so well.
