Kakafon KAKACD015 (2013)

Brutal sound competing with noisy audience coarsened the Womex showcase by this deservedly rising Swedish vocal (Sofia Bergström), fiddle (Erika Risinger), piano and drums quartet. This second CD of their original tradition-rooted songs does tend to energetic audience-stirring up-tempo bang-crash, but it’s imbued with contrast, detail and quality.
