Kakafon KAKACD004 (2011)

A very strong new arrival on the Swedish scene. Snappy, rhythm-leaping songs, or lyrical ones, with hot, ingenious instrumental work from Gothenberg quartet’s beautifully balanced, intricately swingy piano, fiddle and percussion, with strong traditional roots but actually all new compositions by singer Sofia Bergström and pianist Arvid Kästel. www.kakafon.com
