MUDÉJAR
Al-Son
Nuba KAR 707 (2003)
Group of oud, vihuela and Middle Eastern percussion, led by contralto
singer/psaltery player Begoña Olavide, with songs from Spain’s Al-Andalus in the
middle ages. Produced by Luís Delgado, it’s a much more fluent and less
early-music sound than on her debut album, the songs breathing new life.
