Väsen’s Marin on five-string viola, and fiddler Gustafsson of Ni:d and the Mattias Pérez Trio, are both brilliant “second voice” players. Now they’re married, and to make a duo CD one of them has to play the melody. Here that’s mainly Mia, in a deep-textured, chording and contrapuntal set of their own and trad tunes. www.dimmaswe.com
