Norwegian fiddles and cello sextet invite guest vocalists for an album of non-tinselly Christmas songs with mainly traditional melodies. Clear, high vocals from largely female singers, plus Jon Anders Halvorsen’s high tenor, mainly solo-led with band providing elegantly arranged strings. www.majorstuen.biz
