SANDY LOPICIC ORKESTAR
Border Confusion
Network 38409 (2001)
Energetic 15-piece of brass, reeds, violin, piano, hurdy-gurdy, guitar, bass,
drums, including members of Deishovida, with Roma material from across the
Balkans. Strong playing, but the three female singers seem, with occasional
subtler exceptions, to be enthusiastic students of the Ida Kelarova kind of
belting-over-the-band style rather than, yet, truly convincing in their own
right.
