Norwegian Langeland’s sometimes Weill-like settings of poems by Hans Børli, the chimes and pitch-bends of her concert-kantele improvised around by new-Norwegian-jazzers including trumpeter Arve Henriksen, saxist Trygve Seim and bassist Anders Jormin. Her voice has matured well over the years, and here has real authority. The lyrics are crucial though, and they’re in Norwegian.
