THOMÁŠ KOČKO & ORCHESTR
Poplór
Indies MAM 307-2 (2006)
Czech guitarist Kočko with energetic, instrumentally varied big-band folk-rock
arrangements of trad Czech, Moravian, Polish, Serbian, Russian and Silesian
songs and originals. Marred by his singing, which is reasonable on his own songs
but tends to unappealing rock-macho affectation in the trad material. Better
when he leaves the vocals there to Ivana Vaňková and other female guests.
