Kirjava Lintu

Kiima 1009 (2007)

A new and inventive turn for Finnish pelimanni music in spirited and elegant settings by the quintet’s harmonium player Juha Kujanpää of lyrics by four Finnish poets, with fiddles, nyckelharpa, bass and percussion, plus guest guitar and cello. Minsku Tammela’s vocals have the calm reassuringness characteristic of the Finnish female voice. www.kiima-levyt.fi
