What The Folk?!

Beginning, apparently, playing Hungarian traditional music, now a power-rock quintet fronted not by guitars but abrasive furulya, koboz and bratsch in originals and a Hendrix cover. They’re striking a blow for interesting instruments, but musically trad roots are largely drowned in lumpen, not as tongue-in-cheek as they imply, English-language stadium-aspirational bash. www.kerekesband.com
