Valdres fiddler with an unusual, unpretentious and accessible approach for a largely hardingfele-led album; not solo showpieces but interestingly varied Valdres tunes including hymns, lullabies, hallings and listening tunes, joined by her children’s voices, hardingfeler and fiddles, husband Endre’s langeleik, and touches of jews-harp, octave mandolin, harmonium, guitar, bass, deep drum and surprisingly effective tuba. www.hemsing.no
