HANNI AUTERE
Puhun Puille
Sibelius Academy HM2CD-01
There’s an appealing, very Finnish, quiet, calm, light touch to these stately
tunes – hambo, minuet, march, polska – composed by Loituma’s Hanni, who combines
her fiddle and viola with largely wordless tralling vocals. Three tracks draw
lyrics from Elias Lönnrot’s runosong collection, Kanteletar. She’s
supported on some tracks by harmonium and piano from Eero Grundström, or by
accordion, guitar, bass, and extra voices.
