Great Voices Of Fado
ARC EUCD 1639 (2001)

Licensed mostly from Portuguese labels Movieplay and Strauss, a very listenable variety of 17 female and male vocalists from 1957 Amália to present-day performers, most with bands led by the characteristic silvery quivering of guitarra but also some with strings, tango-ish accordion or, on the Dulce Pontes track, dark jazzy ambience.
