FRODE NYVOLD
Skjemt Og Sjanti

Heilo HCD 7137 (1998)

Agder, the southernmost county, has long been closer culturally to the rest of Europe than have Norway’s less accessible regions. These traditional Agder ballads, shanties and other songs, sung in Nyvold’s light, warm baritone, unaccompanied or with his 2-row, or fiddle, guitar and more from Ånon Egeland and Leiv Solberg, show those links, including Norwegian versions of Santianna and New York Girls.
