Top-class Telemark hardingfele player and tune writer, and long-lived: 1904-1995. On these good quality NRK radio recordings from the 1940s and 50s, all of gangars and springars, his playing (on an instrument made by Gunnar Røstad, ‘the Stradivarius of Hardanger fiddles’) is light of touch, rich-toned and impeccably pitched. www.talik.no
