A band that achieved live at the Pulse festival in London last year has on CD gone downhill from its rather appealing previous release. It gives these Slovak folk songs, from a rich tradition full of vigour and graininess, a form-obscuring dulcet, twee lightweight acoustic-guitar folk-rockish blanding-out; even Slovakia’s characteristic flutes are reduced to irritating, repetitive recorderish tootling.
