COBLA SANT JORDI - CIUTAT DE BARCELONA
La Sardana - Grans Èxits

Discmedi Blau DM 4939-02 (2012)

Sounding rather like a lively, superior municipal brass band but with a squealing reedy edge from the pairs of tible and tenora keyed shawms, and flabiol (keyed tabor-whistle) alongside trumpets, trombone, flugelhorns and double bass, this fine 11-piece cobla plays tunes for sardana, Catalunya’s popular rhythm-shifting circle-dance.
