COBLA "LA PRINCIPAL D'AMSTERDAM"
The Sardana - Music from Catalonia
Syncoop 5753 CD 147 (1993)
The line-up of a cobla includes flabiol and tamborí (left-hand pipe and tiny
drum), tibles (wide conical oboes), tenoras (longer, metal tibles), fiscorns
(here replaced by tubas), trumpets, trombone and double bass. The members of
this one are all Dutch, most of them professional musicians, players of oboe,
clarinet, sax or flute in their other lives.
