CHATEAU NEUF SPELEMANNSLAG
Tjuvgods
Grappa GRCD 4124
Plenty of smart arranging and heavy-duty playing of mainly dance tunes on the
second album by this swingy 18-strong Norwegian folk big-band, but the arrival
on so many tracks of high, clear voices la-di-do diddling the tune makes it seem
a bit samey; probably fine live, but here one yearns for a slow song, the
intensity of a solo statement.
