BERGER KNUTSSON SPERING

Swedish trio of drummer Bengt Berger, saxist Jonas Knutsson and bassist Christian Spering. It’s jazz, but the new Nordic sort where traditional tunes can become themes to improvise around. Here just a couple of tracks are based on polskas, the rest free-improv, but isn’t that the way a living tradition should be, infusing all branches of music, not ghettoised?
