BÁGYI BALÁZS QUARTET & SALAMON BEÁTA
Magyar Zene – Hungarian Music
BB BBQCD 03 (2006)
Jazz quartet, kit-drummer led with sax, double bass and - in what in standard
jazz would usually be the piano seat – Dániel Szabó on cimbalom, joined by
traditional violinist Salamon, draw on and improvise around well-understood folk
music shapes, or sometimes play them straight, to create an effective and
sympathetic Hungarian-rooted jazz form.
