Tunes from Norway’s Oppdal – largely sprengleks and waltzes – played with robust lift and accessible directness by winner of the top prize for ordinary fiddle at 2010’s Landskappleik, with the footstamp that helps so much in understanding the rhythms. and joined for some by second fiddle, octave fiddle, guitar, mandola or mandolin.
