ALAMAAILMAN VASARAT
Vasaraasia

Laskeuma LR001 (2000)

Splendid evidence of the new vistas opened when the high instrumental skills of jazz leap away from recycled bebop and standard instrumentation into enticing snaky realms of klezmer and eastern. Hefty, tightly-played, richly melodic, thick-textured and varied band compositions played principally on sax, trombone, harmonium, cello and drums from Finnish five-piece destined for wave-making.
